Safety Advisor - Construction

SMG is currently seeking a Safety Advisor in Indianapolis, Indiana.

The primary role of a Safety Advisor is to prioritize safety in every aspect of their work, remain focused on the client’s needs, collaborate effectively within a team, manage their responsibilities independently, and adapt well to change.

Overview of Job Responsibilities:

• Conducts site safety observations and documents findings
• Facilitates corrective actions when necessary
• Represents the contractor or Owner in progress meetings
• Verifies compliance with safety policies and procedures as required by law, the Owner, or the contractor
• Attends pre-construction planning and safety meetings
• Provides incident management and support
• Prepares documentation and reports
• Conducts reviews of contractor safety programs

• Minimum of 5 years of construction safety experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Safety or a related field preferred
• OSHA 30-Hour Certification – Construction
• Proven experience providing safety oversight on major construction projects
• Strong technical understanding of construction processes

• Moving about long distances
• Ascending/Descending stairs and ladders
• Remaining in a stationary position for a prolonged period
• Working in extreme weather
• Being exposed to loud noises
• Wearing personal protective gear correctly
