Job Description: Job Title Risk Officer for Synthix (Fintech) Location London Corporate Title Vice President Synthix is building multi-bank, treasury and payment orchestration platforms that connects corporate clients with banks, Payment Service Providers (PSPs) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems at scale. We operate as a standalone SaaS Fintech with deep integration into our banking ecosystem but with our own engineering, data and operating model. We are hiring a First-line Risk Officer who combines fintech product thinking, technical depth and hands on operational experience. This role ensures that Synthix scales products safely – balancing innovation, speed and risk discipline. We have implemented a model that enables eligible employees to work remotely for a part of their working time and reach a working pattern that works for them Competitive salary and non-contributory pension 30 days’ holiday plus bank holidays, with the option to purchase additional days Life Assurance and Private Healthcare for you and your family A range of flexible benefits including Retail Discounts, a Bike4Work scheme and Gym benefits The opportunity to support a wide-ranging CSR programme + 2 days’ volunteering leave per year Your key responsibilities Own the first-line risk framework for Synthix Lead Risk assessment and governance with Operational and Technology Risk Ownership Support Client Assurance & due diligence: Partner with Synthix CISO and Head of Client Operations to assist in creating smooth processes for responding to Client questionnaires, procurement checks etc, clearly articulate Synthix’s risk posture, controls and data model Incident Management & Post-mortems - run structured post-incident reviews focused on learning & resilience Drive culture and enable the business - work with engineering and product teams to ensure risk assessment is embedded in design and does not slow delivery Train teams on how to design safe Client facing platforms / systems Your skills and experience Experience in first line risk role within a high growth Fintech or Financial SaaS environment Strong understanding of cloud native architecture (preferably GCP), knowledge of data privacy frameworks (UK GDPR, EU GDPR, DORA, ISO etc) and understanding of AI technologies and risk assessment Conceptual understanding of APIs, webhooks, plugins, SDK, event-based systems, data and logging pipelines Understanding of AI Model governance, LLMs predictive analytics, and associated risks and ability to interpret system architecture diagrams and identify control gaps Practical exposure to Operational resilience, technology risk, data governance, vendor risk, Product risk, third-party API risk Strong ability to design lightweight controls that scale How we’ll support you Training and development to help you excel in your career Coaching and support from experts in your team A culture of continuous learning to aid progression A range of flexible benefits that you can tailor to suit your needs About us Deutsche Bank is the leading German bank with strong European roots and a global network.
