As a Registration Manager, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Transportation & Registration Manager to deliver high-quality sampling programmes that meet both regulatory and business needs. You will ensure the efficient delivery of these programmes within set timeframes, working closely with the Registration & Transportation Manager to provide training and support to Registration Technicians. This role involves maintaining competency requirements, ensuring continuity of service, and deputising for the Transportation & Registration Manager when needed. You will proactively supervise and direct workflow and resources, and provide advice during water quality-related incidents. You will also participate in an operational management rota to cover out-of-hours scheduling, sampling, and transportation requests. The Registration Lead is expected to maintain compliance with quality and safety standards, support external audits, and contribute to a collaborative culture across the business. All employees within Analytical Services are required to complete internal Licence To Operate (LTO) certification, maintain an up-to-date CPD record, and have a clearly defined development plan. Key responsibilities Participate in the registration of scheduled and ad hoc samples to meet internal and external obligations. Plan and manage the registration rota to ensure sufficient sampling resource. Deliver training and retraining to ensure compliance with quality manuals and procedures. Support the Transportation & Registration Manager with team and Quality KPI delivery and monitoring. Maintain compliance with QMS procedures and support investigations, audits, and improvement initiatives. Commit to and advocate for Health and Safety in all laboratory activities. Scientific A Level qualification (or equivalent) as a minimum. Proven experience in a scientific environment, with in-depth knowledge of scientific methodologies and practical problem-solving skills. Experience supervising teams under the guidance of a manager. Understanding of regulatory standards and compliance (e.g. ISO 17025, ISO 9001) and knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS). Attention to detail, strong organisational and time management skills, and a learning attitude. Excellent communication skills, ability to work both independently and as part of a team, and a commitment to health, safety, and wellbeing.
