Job Details Job Location: Boca Raton, FL 33496 Position Type: Full-Time/Part-Time Summary: The front line of operations for the department. Assists members and guests with all their Racquet needs while providing exceptional service. Responsible for being the first impression, first interaction, and often the last of the entire Tennis & Pickleball daily member experience. Greets and services all members and their guests in a kind and confident matter to elevate the customer experience and increase engagement. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following; Drives efficiency and effectiveness in all three aspects of handling customer interactions: customer experience, retail, and check-ins. Greets all members and their guests upon entering the Resort and Racquet Shoppe with a polite, professional and welcoming attitude. Ensures members and their guests are treated courteously, and transactions are handled respectfully at all times. Engages confidently and kindly in all member interactions via phone, email, in-person, retail, and other communication channels. Answers the telephone timely and provides all relevant information such as booking court reservations, lessons, clinics, ball machines, demo rackets, etc., properly taking and delivering messages and offering requested racquet information related to programs and activities. Continually learns about the different program offerings, upcoming events, retail sales, inventory, rules, policies and procedures. Works with Chelsea, NorthStar, Polo app, and other software applications and registers court reservations with court booking software system. Assists in organizing special events by calling members with information about the event and confirming their attendance. Properly opens and closes the Racquets Shoppe based on established procedures. May assist with inventory control by properly checking in and tagging merchandise, restocking merchandise and keeping the Racquets Shoppe and storeroom organized in a neat and clean manner. Communicates with members, co-workers, management and the general public in a courteous and professional manner. Conforms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions. Exhibits and maintains a professional demeanor to reflect a positive image of The Polo Club. Performs other duties as assigned by the Racquets Shop Manager. Polo is a 22 tennis court & 18 pickleball court facility with up to 150 permanent stadium seats, and an expansive Resort Shoppe which offers top-of-the-line fashion, fitness, casual and sports hard and soft goods. You will be part of a team of 20+ dedicated professionals committed to motivating and challenging tennis and pickleball players of all levels. With a growth mindset, a candidate will find many avenues to advance their careers in multiple fields such as sports and recreation, food and beverage fields, and up to management opportunities. Two of our own tennis/pickleball professionals, and our current General Manager, all started in customer service roles. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Must have excellent customer service skills. Must have strong computer proficiency. Must have strong understanding of the game of tennis. Knowledge of tennis rackets, grips and stringing highly desirable. Must have outstanding telephone etiquette. Ability to verbally communicate well in English and in writing. Ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions in English. Ability to interact professionally and maintain effective working relationships with management, co-workers and members. Must be able to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: AED and CPR certification.
