Work Schedule Standard (Mon-Fri) Environmental Conditions Some degree of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs etc.) Job Description QC Technician II (9-Month contract) Based at Thermo Fisher Scientific’s Paisley site (3 Fountain Drive, Inchinnan Business Park), this role offers the opportunity to join an ISO-accredited QC laboratory supporting cell culture media and biomanufacturing activities. As a QC Technician II, you will give to essential sterility testing, cell culture assays, and cell banking to ensure our products meet the highest quality standards. Position Objective The role requires carrying out microbial testing, assays on cultured cells, and the storage of cell stocks within an ISO-accredited laboratory environment. You will help guarantee our products uphold the highest standards, supporting Thermo Fisher’s strong reputation for quality and customer happiness outcomes. All activities must align with internal and external specifications, giving to departmental safety and quality objectives. Responsibilities Perform raw material and finished-goods release testing according to Standard Operating Procedures, including: Cell culture performance assays Cell banking Calibration and daily checks of laboratory equipment Supporting and maintaining 5S, safety, environmental, and waste-management programs Supporting validation testing, technical investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives Scheduling daily workload Completing product testing in accordance with ISO 13485 requirements Participating in personal development activities Education Bachelor’s degree in a Biological Science (required) Experience One year of experience in a similar laboratory environment preferred (not essential) Strong oral and written communication skills Proven ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams Contacts Regular collaboration with departments across operations Possible interactions with external collaborators Working Conditions Laboratory environment Work involves safe handling of chemicals and hazardous materials Some manual handling required Thank you for your interest as you consider starting a new career journey with us.
