Work Schedule Standard (Mon-Fri) Environmental Conditions Some degree of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs etc.) Job Description Position Objective: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Scientist II with expertise in microbiology and/or cell culture to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in environmental monitoring, capable of developing and optimizing protocols and methodologies without compromising quality. This role requires collaboration across cross-functional teams, advanced technical knowledge, and the ability to work independently. Essential Functions: Maintaining and completing product testing as per testing procedures in accordance with EP/USP & knowledge of ISO 13485 Serve as the SME in environmental monitoring, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. Develop and optimise protocols and methodologies while maintaining high-quality standards. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Quality Engineering (QE) and manufacturing scientists, to address customer complaints, site investigations, and resolve quality issues. Prepare and present findings at internal and external meetings and host Root Cause Analysis (RCA) sessions. Mentor and train junior members of staff, fostering their professional development. Work independently to identify and implement opportunities for improvement across the site, making decisive actions where appropriate. Be quality control host for customer audits Perform statistical analysis to review trends in data, implementing actions and improvements as required. Troubleshoot equipment issues to ensure smooth operation and minimal downtime. Education: Bachelors Degree in scientific field Experience: Minimum of 3+ years of quality control lab experience Knowledgeable in ISO 13485 standards and regulatory requirements Strong oral and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to work efficiently in a cross functional team and interact with all levels within the company. Contacts: Will collaborate with all other departments within the operational department. May be required to have contact with external sources. Working Conditions: Work is conducted in a laboratory environment. Must be able to work safely with chemicals and hazardous materials. Comfortable with performing some manual handling.
