In deal recovery management at PwC, you will focus on helping clients navigate financial distress and recover from challenging business situations. You will be responsible for providing strategic advice and solutions to optimise recovery outcomes. Role overview Lead and deliver complex pensions actuarial engagements for corporate and trustee clients, applying advanced actuarial techniques and commercial judgement to design bespoke models, advise on cost and risk, and drive measurable client outcomes. As a Senior Manager, you will own client relationships, oversee multi-disciplinary teams, and contribute to practice growth and quality. Key responsibilities Scope, lead, and review actuarial workstreams, including actuarial valuations and funding updates, asset–liability modelling, and GMP equalisation modelling. Build, validate, and govern bespoke actuarial and financial models in Excel and other relevant software to quantify cost, risk, and scenario impacts. Provide technical and regulatory advice on pensions financing, risk management, and regulatory change, ensuring compliance with TPR Codes of Practice and actuarial standards (including TAS 100 and TAS 300). Manage engagement delivery, budgeting, and risk; develop team capability; contribute to propositions, thought leadership, and business development. Required experience and qualifications Pensions actuarial consultant with substantial post-qualification experience at a leading consultancy. Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (FIA) or part-qualified with significant relevant experience. Proven application of actuarial methodologies to produce decision-grade analysis and modelling for clients. Deep knowledge of UK pensions regulation and financing, including the Pensions Acts (e.g., 2005 and 2021), Finance Act provisions, TPR Codes of Practice, and TAS standards. Skills and attributes Advanced Excel modelling; familiarity with additional analytical tools/software advantageous. Strong client leadership, report writing, and stakeholder management skills. High standards of technical accuracy, governance, and delivery under pressure.
