In 2021, Littelfuse had net sales of $2.1 billion. We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Product Yield Engineer to join our Product Yield Enhancement Team. In this key role, you will be responsible for maximizing yield and optimizing the performance of our Phase Control Thyristor product lines. You will act as the primary technical expert on device characteristics and work cross-functionally to understand how process variations impact product performance. Your initiatives will directly contribute to improved product quality, higher yields, and greater cost-effectiveness. About the job: Yield Optimization & Improvement Analyze final test results and electrical characteristics to identify yield detractors and performance gaps. Diagnose root causes of yield loss and drive product-specific yield improvement initiatives. Monitor and report on key product performance metrics and yield trends. Collaborate with Process Engineers to implement process changes that enhance yield and performance. Present data-driven findings and recommendations to management and cross-functional teams. Product Qualification & Release Lead or support the qualification and release of new product numbers for manufacturing. Qualify new process recipes from a device performance and yield perspective, ensuring compliance with product specifications. Failure Analysis & Debugging Conduct detailed failure analysis for in-process die and devices. Determine and implement appropriate rework strategies. Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support QA with the analysis of customer returns. Collaboration & Consultation Provide deep product and device expertise to Process Engineers during process optimization. Serve as a key technical liaison between design, process, and test teams to ensure manufacturability and high yield. About you: HNC/D in Electrical Engineering, Semiconductor Physics, Materials Science, or a related engineering discipline. Proficiency in statistical analysis tools (e.g., JMP, Minitab) for yield analysis and correlation studies. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate device performance into process improvements. Proven ability to manage and drive cross-functional projects to completion. Working knowledge of lean and Six Sigma continuous improvement methodologies (DMAIC, A3, 8D, 5-Why’s). Excellent time management, self-motivation, and the ability to prioritize multiple projects. Clear and confident communication skills for technical discussions and reporting. Desirable Skills Previous experience as a Product Engineer or Test Engineer in semiconductor manufacturing, ideally with knowledge of power devices (e.g., Thyristors, IGBTs, Diodes, GTOs). Strong understanding of semiconductor device physics, electrical characterization, and failure analysis methods. Hands-on experience with characterization equipment and final test platforms. Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification is a plus. Littelfuse strives to empower associate growth and development in a culture of ongoing collaboration and respect for diverse global perspectives and expertise. Our Core Values – Respect, Customer Focus, Agility, Collaboration – support us in our mission to improve the safety, reliability, and performance of our customers’ products that use electrical energy. We are an equal opportunity employer that takes pride in giving every associate the means and courage to make a difference – everywhere, every day. #LI-RK Our humble roots date back to 1927, where, in the back of a garage on Chicago’s northside, our founder, Edward Sundt, developed a small, fast-acting, protective fuse for use in sensitive test meters. Sundt wanted to call his new company producing these small fuses, “Little Fuse,” but wasn’t allowed to trademark two such common words. So, instead he went with the one-word, misspelled “Littelfuse.” For more than 95 years, Littelfuse has pioneered innovative products that help empower a sustainable, connected, and safer world. With the ever-evolving electrification and electronification of customer applications, our product technologies are closely linked to sustainable applications such as electric vehicles and EV charging infrastructure, renewable energy and energy storage, factory automation, power management and more. Throughout our history, our people have been the foundation of our success — and that remains true today. Now more than ever, our bright and talented people are a strategic advantage for the company. From the production line to the engineering lab, the office or distribution center, Littelfuse people are an important part of a diverse, talented team of the best and brightest in the industry. While Littelfuse has experienced tremendous growth in recent years, we still maintain a small-company, entrepreneurial approach where your efforts will drive our culture, our business, and the overall success of the organization. No matter where you work or what you do, your contributions will make a difference at Littelfuse — everywhere, every day. Littelfuse is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
