The Entitlements team is an Agile development team based in Berlin and London with responsibility for the authorisation services that underlie our content platforms like Springer Nature Link and Nature.com. These services are essential to Springer Nature's institutional and individual sales and for enabling researcher access to scientific content on our platforms. The role involves working closely with our internal content platform and business systems teams to set a direction for the Entitlements services and to support innovations across Springer Nature that require the services. Experience working on an Agile development team, strong interpersonal skills, and strong analytic thinking are all essential. Experience in academic publishing and with eCommerce, Identity & Access Management, and Business Systems is an advantage, but is not essential. We are open to hiring a promising Product Manager with less than 5 years of experience who is seeking to develop their skills and career. This is a 6 to 12 month fixed term contract providing cover for parental leave. The role is based in Berlin, London or Lisbon. What you will be doing 0-3 Months Understand the current scope of the Entitlements team and the landscape and priority of customer problems and business opportunities Engage with and understand internal and external research on the academic publishing market and our institutional customers Attend and contribute to Entitlements team rituals Form relationships with and develop the trust of the Entitlements team and senior internal stakeholders Form relationships within the Product Group at Springer Nature Begin delivering clear, data-led reports on the team’s progress toward its goals Begin managing work requests coming into the team from stakeholders 3-12 Months Engage in research with internal and external users to better understand their needs Refine the vision, roadmap, and key performance indicators for the Entitlements team based on what you and the team learn. Support the team in delivering on that roadmap by advocating for your vision and identifying and being a catalyst for addressing gaps in or blockers to delivery Identify and implement improvements to the team’s processes to accelerate delivery Successfully bring product developments to market and measure their impacts for users and the business Regularly deliver data-led reports to management and other stakeholders Manage incoming work requests to the team by identifying the problem behind the requests, prioritising the problems, and collaboratively designing solutions to those problems that effectively address user and business needs Effectively park low priority problems and retire products as necessary At Springer Nature, we value the diversity of our teams and work to build an inclusive culture, where people are treated fairly and can bring their differences to work and thrive.
