The Opportunity Luma AI is a full-stack AI lab building Multimodal AGI. We train our own foundational models and build the products that utilize them. We combine the massive compute resources and capital of a major tech company with the agility and individual ownership of a small, focused team. You will sit at the intersection of Research and Product, architecting the systems that transform our frontier models into a creative partner for millions of users. Where You Come In You will be a foundational builder for our AI Agent workstream. This role focuses on inventing new interaction paradigms for generative media. You will move beyond standard chat interfaces to build a system that can reason visually and collaborate with users on complex creative projects. What You Will Build Novel Agentic Workflows: Prototype and ship breakthrough agent capabilities that explore the edge of creative AI, pushing past the limitations of current visual language models. The Creative Partner: Architect the logic that allows an AI to understand artistic intent, manipulating video and images to amplify human imagination. First-Principles Engineering: Build custom reasoning loops and tools from the ground up, rather than relying on off-the-shelf frameworks. The Profile We Are Looking For Creative Prototyper: You have a portfolio of unique, personally built projects that demonstrate original thought in the agentic or generative space. User-Centric Builder: You care deeply about the user's experience and how the agent responds to their creative flow. Technical Fluency: You have strong proficiency in Python and a history of hacking on novel AI applications, often before a playbook existed.
