The Pharmacy Technician processes prescriptions for the pharmacist to check before dispensing to the patient, assists the pharmacist by conducting technical functions in the pharmacy, communicates with patients regarding their prescription needs and refers them to the pharmacist when necessary. Cross-coverage at HHS retail pharmacy sites, and travel within the HHS portfolio to assist in fitting for compression garments, on an as-needed basis. 1. Graduate of an approved Pharmacy Assistant Program 2. Minimum 2 years prior retail pharmacy experience 3. Hospital pharmacy experience an asset 4. Proficiency in the Kroll Computer System 5. Registered with Ontario College of Pharmacists, or actively pursuing bridging courses Candidates must have completed the following requirements related to registration with the Ontario College of Pharmacists prior to the application to this posting. No candidate will be successful to this position unless the candidate has completed all of the following: • Completion of a college level Pharmacy Technician Program (accredited college preferred) • Registration with the Ontario College of Pharmacists as a Pharmacy Technician (RPhT)
