Who We Are The Mikisew Cree First Nation (Mikisew) has lived on the ancestral lands of the Athabasca Delta and Wood Buffalo National Park in northeastern Alberta since time immemorial. Who You Are We are seeking a reliable Part-Time Custodian to maintain cleanliness and order in our office and shop areas. This position averages 20 hours per week, typically on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. The Custodian will be responsible for general cleaning duties, maintaining a safe and tidy work environment, and ensuring that all areas are presentable for staff and visitors. Roles & Responsibilities Clean and maintain office and shop areas, including floors, windows, desks, and common areas. Empty trash and recycling bins regularly and dispose of waste appropriately. Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust as required to ensure a clean environment. Maintain cleanliness of restrooms, replenish supplies, and ensure sanitary conditions. Report any maintenance or repair needs to the supervisor promptly. Ensure cleaning supplies and equipment are stored safely and used appropriately. Follow all workplace health and safety guidelines while performing duties. Assist with minor setup or organization tasks as requested by management. Complete assigned tasks within scheduled hours, maintaining consistency and reliability. All other duties as assigned. Qualifications Proven experience as custodian, Janitor or in a similar role Knowledge of use and maintenance of industrial cleaning equipment and appliances Knowledge of safe disposal of chemical liquids and other hazardous components Attention to detail and conscientiousness Very good physical condition and strength High school diploma is preferred but not required Position is open until a suitable candidate is found.
