POSTING CLOSE DATE: October 16, 2025 THE OPPORTUNITY Join BCI's Legal Affairs Department as a Paralegal, reporting into the Senior Paralegal and supporting our in-house legal team on large-scale global investment transactions. You'll collaborate with lawyers and fellow paralegals to execute complex corporate strategies, manage entity formations and amendments, and ensure accurate documentation across multiple jurisdictions. WHAT YOU BRING Must have: 2+ years’ experience as a paralegal or similar experience working in a legal office setting Strong work ethic and talent for detailed work Strong problem-solving skills, meticulous attention to detail, superb accuracy and organizational ability Proven ability to manage high volume of priority work under competing deadlines, take initiative, work collaboratively as part of a team and be discreet with confidential information Strong and accurate keyboarding (60+ WPM), writing, editing, and word processing skills Ability to maintain positive long-term professional relationships with all parties Ability to work effectively in a close team environment Demonstrated skill at triaging and prioritizing tasks and projects Delegates effectively and holds self and others accountable to meet deadlines and deliver exceptional quality of work History of contributing to individual and team efficiencies and best practices Preferred: Legal degree, law clerk or paralegal certificate or diploma from an accredited institution (or equivalent corporate records experience) As BCI is a global investor, familiarity with other legal jurisdictions from a corporate perspective is considered an asset, as is speaking a foreign language WHAT YOU WILL DO Supports the Paralegals, lawyers and the Legal department with executing transactions and corporate strategies Assists with entity management process, including entity formation, amendments, change of director and/or officer, share transactions, dissolutions, and other corporate filings Maintains accurate records of entity information, including entity formations, amendments, director and officer changes, share transactions, and other corporate filings Coordinates investor Know Your Client and Anti Money Laundering questionnaires for new and existing investments Collaborates with the Paralegals, lawyers, and other legal professionals to ensure that all required documentation is completed accurately and on time Assists the Paralegals, lawyers and deal teams with drafting and reviewing various legal documents and with document management and retrieval Collaborates with Legal Affairs team to innovate and memorialize evolving best practices and efficiencies Responds quickly and positively to shifting demands and opportunities, while working under tight deadlines and handling multiple detailed tasks Performs administrative functions as required WHERE YOU WILL WORK This role is based in our downtown Victoria, BC office. BCI is an in-person, collaborative organization with the flexibility to work remotely one day per week. SALARY RANGE The annualized base salary range for the Paralegal role is CAD $77,000 to $93,000. BCI offers a competitive total rewards package, including a performance-based incentive plan, comprehensive health & dental benefits, a defined benefit pension plan, and paid time off. The base salary will consider factors such as the individual's skill set, experience, and internal equity.
