Job Title: Paediatric Community Speech and Language Therapist Banding: Band 6/7 Location: Wolverhampton Start Date: ASAP Rate: £26.00–£31.00 per hour Working Hours: Full-time or Part-time Job Overview We are currently seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Paediatric Community Speech and Language Therapist (SALT) to join a dedicated team in Wolverhampton. This role involves working across a range of community settings, including clinics, pre-school environments, and schools, supporting children and young people with diverse Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN). You will play a key role in assessing, planning, and delivering interventions to enable children to achieve their full communication potential. This post is ideal for a therapist with a strong background in paediatric community practice, particularly within mainstream and early years settings. A car driver is essential due to travel across multiple sites in the Wolverhampton area. Key Responsibilities In this role, you will: • Assess, diagnose, and manage children with a variety of speech, language, and communication difficulties. • Deliver evidence-based therapy programmes in clinic, pre-school, and school settings. • Collaborate with families, teachers, and multidisciplinary teams to support children’s communication development. • Provide training, advice, and resources to parents, carers, and education staff. • Maintain accurate, high-quality clinical records in line with HCPC and service standards. • Contribute to service development and promote best practice in community paediatric speech and language therapy. Qualifications and Experience To be considered for this role, you must have: • A recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy (or equivalent). • HCPC registration and eligibility for membership of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT). • Proven experience in paediatric speech and language therapy, specifically within community, mainstream, and pre-school settings. • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills. • Access to a car and full UK driving licence (essential).
