He whakamārama mō te tūranga mahi | About the role We currently have a vacancy in our Headworks team for an Operations Engineer. This role is responsible for delivering operational outcomes for Auckland's water supply dams and infrastructure that conveys water to our treatment plants. As an Operations Engineer for the Headworks, you will spend time in the office and on site in the Hūnua & Waitākere Ranges. In the Operations Engineer role, you will: Find solutions to operational problems and lead improvement works. Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver operational solutions. Manage operational and minor capital projects. Liaise with consultants and contractors. Undertake condition assessment of operational assets. Project support for Watercare's infrastructure department in the execution of projects and renewals. Perform after-hours, on-call duties and be available for rostered work if needed. Ngā pūkenga e rapu nei mātou | About you An appreciation for the natural and built environment as well as your technical expertise will be a key prerequisite for your success in the role. You'll be a confident, enthusiastic problem-solver with a 'can-do' attitude who loves a challenge and works well under pressure. Also, in your toolkit you'll have: A relevant tertiary level qualification in engineering or be an experienced practitioner. Project management experience. Experience in water networks, planning, operations and maintenance, civil, geotechnical or mechanical construction. Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication abilities Current full driver's licence.
