About the role The Exceptions Management team operates in a fast-paced, collaborative, and friendly environment. The team is responsible for overseeing all client remediation following trading errors, and for driving initiatives that reduce transactional discrepancies and stock breaks across the wider Operations function. We work closely with several key departments, particularly Reconciliations and CASS, to ensure strong operational control and adherence to regulatory standards. This role offers a varied mix of analytical, operational, and regulatory responsibilities. You will support the identification of trends that may expose the business to operational or regulatory risk, produce regular management information (MI) for senior stakeholders, and administer corrective actions on client accounts where required. The position provides an excellent opportunity to influence internal processes, support continuous improvement, and contribute to a culture of robust risk management. What you’ll be doing Investigating potential trading errors submitted across the business and approving or rejecting remediation requests. Ensuring the prompt and accurate resolution of trading remediation on client accounts. Analysing trends in trading errors and escalating emerging risks where appropriate. Investigating and resolving transactional stock break exceptions raised by the internal Reconciliations team. Supporting the Exceptions Management Team Manager in producing regular management information (MI) and reporting for senior stakeholders. Participating in regulatory working groups and providing insight on trading error volumes and transactional stock break trends. Maintaining the accuracy of trading processes by completing daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly operational controls. Contributing to wider departmental projects and continuous improvement initiatives as opportunities arise.
