Role Overview The Operational Resilience Specialist ensures that Brooks Macdonald meets regulatory requirements and internal standards for operational resilience, focusing on important business services, third-party dependencies, and continuity planning. The role supports the identification, assessment, and mitigation of risks that could disrupt client services, safeguarding the Brooks Macdonald’s reputation and regulatory compliance. Role responsibilities Maintain and enhance the firm’s operational resilience framework in line with FCA, PRA and SM&CR requirements. Identify and map important business services. Define and set associated impact tolerances. Map people, processes, technology, facilities and third-party dependencies supporting important business services. Conduct scenario testing and stress analysis to validate resilience capabilities. Monitor and report on resilience metrics and remediation plans. Assess resilience of key suppliers and outsourced service providers. Ensure contractual arrangements include resilience obligations and exit strategies. Support business continuity planning and crisis management exercises. Help prepare a self-assessment document to be approved by the Board and review and update annually. Maintain clear internal and external communication plans for disruptions, ensuring FCA notification protocols ae in place. Maintain evidence for regulatory audits and annual Fit & Proper assessments. Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Strong understanding of FCA/PRA operational resilience requirements and SM&CR. Experience in risk frameworks, business continuity, and third-party risk oversight. Proficiency in resilience testing methodologies, impact tolerance setting, and scenario planning. Ability to interpret complex data and develop actionable insights. Skilled at influencing senior stakeholders and managing cross-functional projects. Attention to Detail: Ensures accuracy in resilience mapping and regulatory reporting. Collaboration: Works effectively across business units and with external partners. Adaptability: Responds quickly to emerging risks and regulatory changes.
