Medical Laboratory Assistant , Sample Reception (PF)

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Medical Laboratory Assistant to work in our fast-paced medical laboratories in South Essex. Pathology First is a partnership between SYNLAB and Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust, supporting Basildon and Thurrock Hospitals, Southend Hospital and more than 200 GP practices. It provides services to a population of 750,000 in the East of England and performs around 56,000 tests every day. We are looking for candidates who have passion for patient care, ideally with a background in healthcare setting who is able to work in a fast pace environment, has manual dexterity and is able to accurately enter patient information into Laboratory Information System. The successful candidate will work in a team as well as being required to work independently at times. The candidate will be participating in a variety of shifts such as early and later shifts (currently 0800-1600, 1000-1800, 1100 – 1900 and 1200-2000) each week including some weekends. The successful candidate will receive fully comprehensive training and will require to be competent in various sections of specimen receptions.
