We are hiring Manufacturing Supplier Quality Leaders for 3 different remote regions: Malvern, PA (Northeast), Chicago, IL (Midwest), and California (West Coast) As a Manufacturing Supplier Quality Leader (SQM) at Varian Medical Systems, a Siemens Healthineers company – you will: Ensure and improve the supplier quality outcomes in the medical capital equipment arena. Support the implementation of SQM requirements regarding preventive actions, technical specifications and qualification of suppliers. Act as SQM contact in cross-functional teams. Be a critical point of contact actively engaged in developing and implementing strategies to ensure Medical Device suppliers manufacturing operations meet aggressive quality, regulatory, and performance standards. We are actively evolving our Supplier Quality program to be aligned with industry leading PPAP/APQP standards that drive quality at the source and foster a collaborative partnership between OEM and suppliers where suppliers share in the accountability and ownership of manufactured quality deliverables. This role requires strong leadership and relationship building skills, excellent communication, advanced problem-solving skills, and proven collaboration with cross-functional teams like procurement and operations. As such your primary tasks will be: Leading Risk based supplier audits ensuring ISO13485 compliance and quality driven outcomes Implementing Lean Manufacturing, PPAP, SPC, and Six Sigma standards enhancing suppliers capabilities Negotiating strong quality agreements with quality at the source deliverables Managing, addressing, and mitigating internal CAPA and external supplier corrective and preventive actions (SCAR) Driving ongoing continuous improvement initiatives with suppliers and internal teams What You will Do: Global Strategic Supplier Quality Management Drive global supplier quality relationship management and development, ensuring alignment with company objectives and standards. Collaborate with SQEs across sites to ensure consistent communication, feedback and improvement on supplier performance Foster Global Supplier Partnership and Quality Improvement Build long-term supplier partnerships, drive continuous improvement on critical quality issues, and implement proactive quality measures. Use tools such as Power BI tools to establish real-time performance baselines and develop ongoing improvement activities with suppliers. Experience with implementing industry standard tools that improve supplier quality performance, such as PPAP/SPC, and other quality management tools with suppliers Support Global Supplier selection onboarding and performance Supplier development and compliance to quality standards. Supplier performance monitoring, auditing, and improvement. Support with supplier evaluation activities in collaboration with cross-functional teams. Enhance Cross-Functional Collaboration Strengthen partnerships with Strategic Procurement, site SQEs, customer support, and engineering team members to effectively resolve supplier-related issues. Organize regular meetings with Site SQEs to gain a comprehensive, global understanding of supplier performance. Develop close working relationships with Strategic Procurement, relevant Commodity Managers, and site SQEs to improve collaboration. Additional Responsibilities: Effectively Resolve Supplier Issues Communicate and management of escalated or emerging Issues Monitor supplier data and KPI’s Reduce Warranty and Non-conformance costs Support and Drive Assigned QatS Deliverables What You will Have: Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Biomedical, fields OR equivalent experience. 10+ years of technical leadership experience in supply chain, engineering, design engineering, and/or Supplier Quality Engineering. Must have ISO Certified Lead Auditor experience Experience in healthcare and medical technology sector and strong understanding of ISO13485 and ISO9001 Experience driving improvements in a PPAP/APQP environment where suppliers share in the quality data and monitoring techniques Ability to lead projects consisting of cross-functional teams, and manage complex problem solving projects with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficient in understanding engineering requirements and design solutions in a regulated industry. Experience with lean manufacturing, statistical process control, Six Sigma, and design for manufacturability practices. Strong track record of problem solving and driving process improvements Passion for Travel and Onsite Supplier Engagement - this role will require travel to supplier locations both domestically and internationally, up to 30%, potentially on short notice. Proven strong communicator with internal and external partners Familiarity with eQMS including: quality management systems, quality management software and ERP systems (SAP preferred) What will set You apart: One or more of the following certifications: Certified Quality Engineer, Six Sigma Black Belt #LI-Remote The annual base pay for this position is: Min $114,400 - Max $171,600 Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
