POSITION EXPECTATIONPOSITION EXPECTATIONS Position Summary The Manager of Training Academy is responsible for ensuring the overall success of training programs offered through the Training Academy by overseeing daily operations, expanding current offerings, and developing new trainings aligned with market demands and community needs. This role leads the strategic vision of the Training Academy by managing people, processes, and technology to deliver programs on time and on budget, while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance. The Manager cultivates strong partnerships with employers to support job placement for graduates, acts as a steward of funding, and ensures all grant and reporting requirements are met. Additionally, the position oversees curriculum development, promotion, and implementation of training and plays an active role in fostering internal and external relationships with employers, training providers, and other stakeholders. Responsibilities Leadership and Customer Service Provides strategic direction for the day-to-day activities of the Training Academy team to drive the strategic plan and the organization. Leads and manages the development, evaluation, implementation and maintenance of curricula and programs that provide marketable career skills in response to community and employer needs and/or targeting high growth industries to prepare participants for success. Leads, manages, coaches and develops Training Academy team members Offers expert insight on enrollment and training processes and procedures for job seekers and provides assistance to staff as needed. Handles external communication with local employers who are looking to potentially hire program participants. Resolves any customer service-related matters while upholding our guiding principles. Outreach and Enrollment Develops and implements effective outreach strategies to attract individuals interested in training programs to ensure enrollment targets are met for each cohort. Collaborates with community organizations to increase awareness and promote enrollment. Monitors and assists with meeting enrollment targets. Partnership Development Establishes and maintains partnerships with employer partners to understand their workforce needs and ensures the curriculum aligns with the roles available. Acts as a trusted workforce partner by providing guidance on best practices for program success and addressing employer needs. Curriculum Development and Training Builds partnerships and collaborates with industry experts to determine skill requirements and training needs in high growth industries. Ensures the curriculum aligns with industry standards, licensing requirements, employer requirements, and emerging trends. Creates and revise training content, program materials, job aids, manuals, multimedia visual aids and reference materials (this also includes reviewing off-the-shelf products as needed) in alignment with the curricula strategies. Provides training in a hybrid mode (in person and virtual) in conjunction with other training providers to meet the desired outcomes of training programs. Community Engagement Manages multifaceted employer relationships as well as collaborates with the Mission Services leadership to identify and understand high growth industries, industry trends and employer needs to ensure relevant training curricula Participates in industry events, conferences, and meetings to foster relationships and promote Goodwill as a reputable provider training. Promotes Goodwill’s Mission Services to prospective employers, community groups and job seekers, and networking events. Assists in generating outreach and recruitment of jobseekers along with Career Coaches. Contributes to partner employer profiles, databases, and all other related records. Has complete understanding of the Goodwill Opportunity Accelerator and ensures compliance and alignment with all programs and outcomes, as well as all Goodwill policies provided in the Team Member Guidebook, Goodwill and CARF standards, and safety and security regulations. Adheres to all Goodwill manuals, handbooks, policies, and procedures. Grant Management Understands the needs of grants and develops strategies to deliver measurable results. Collaborates with the Grants Team and Finance Departments to ensure compliance, tracks progress, and reports on outcomes. Identifies new grant opportunities to support the expansion and growth of training programs. Facility Growth and Expansion and Strategy Development Oversees the growth and build-out of new training spaces and programs Proactively identifies opportunities for expansion and enhancement based on industry demand and regional workforce needs. Offers insights and builds frameworks and structures for in-demand fields in Southern Nevada. Stays abreast of emerging trends, industry developments, and advancements in training. Collaborates with leadership to develop long-term strategies for program growth and sustainability. General Program Administration and Staff Management Ensures compliance with all Goodwill and CARF standards for program certification and keeps in close communication with Director of Program Operations. Responsible for meeting and tracking grant-funded programs productivity goals, developing qualitative success stories and quantitative program statistics, maintaining the enrollment system and case documentation required by specific grants. Provides weekly and monthly reports to executive management on service goals being met, grant statistics, etc. Ensures compliance with all applicable policies and procedures. Ensures best use of technology in support of programmatic objectives and makes recommendations for related improvements. Job Search and Placement Assistance Gathers and shares data about the local job market Collaborates with coaches and job developers on job placement. Education, Experience and Requirements Required Must have a minimum of five years of leadership experience working within workforce development, and/or education. Experience creating reports and tracking grant requirements and outcomes Must be a dynamic, enthusiastic person with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, patience, diplomacy, and a high level of customer service skills. Minimum of five years of demonstrated experience in employment counseling, career counseling, job development, and placement Education that aligns with establishing experience as a Subject Matter Expert in facilitation, training, and leadership field Excellent cross-cultural communication skills and ability/willingness to work with economically and culturally diverse clientele required Ability to work independently and in a team with ability to work well in a fast-paced environment with excellent organizational skills Attention to detail and outstanding follow-up skills required.
