Manager - People in Deals (PiD): People in Deals (PiD) is a market leading team sitting within PwC’s M&A Operations Deals business, advising both corporate and private equity clients across the M&A (merger & acquisitions) cycle, including integration, and with longer term transformation. Our clients include some of the most well-known brands and businesses, who understand that putting people at the heart of any M&A activity is critical to achieving deal value. Our PiD team assists clients with the operational aspects of a transaction relating to the workforce to identify key risks and opportunities, including but not limited to: HR & People Separation; Employee relations & consultation; Culture, Comms & Change; TOM (Target Operating Model) & Org Design; Reward separation & harmonisation; Talent management and skills agenda; HR Function design. What you will do: As a Manager in the PiD team, you’ll be at the heart of our delivery on some of the most complex and high-profile transactions in the market. You will work closely with colleagues to support with leading client engagements, managing workstreams, and acting as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders. Drawing on your people expertise, you’ll help organisations navigate critical workforce challenges across the deal lifecycle — from planning and execution to integration and transformation. You will also play a pivotal role in developing our people, shaping propositions, and driving business development opportunities, ensuring that our practice continues to grow and succeed. Your responsibilities may include: Building and maintaining trusted relationships with People leaders and other senior business stakeholders; Managing workstream delivery to time, quality, and budget, while providing insight and lessons learned from previous projects; Coaching and developing colleagues at all levels, providing feedback and guidance to enhance technical, interpersonal, and consulting skills across the team; Working with cross-functional PwC teams to bring integrated solutions to client challenges; Driving business development by scoping people related activities on transactions, contributing to proposals, and shaping compelling client propositions; Supporting the development of our practice through thought leadership, knowledge sharing, and sector-specific initiatives. What you will need: Proven success in leading workstream delivery, managing priorities, and producing high-quality outputs under the pressures of a deal environment; Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage credibly with senior leaders and manage upwards effectively; Some experience of working on deals (integration, carve-out, or post-deal), ideally combined with broader business transformation experience and a strong people focused background; Experience in coaching, mentoring, and performance managing teams to support with the continuous improvement of capability and performance; Strong analytical skills and data literacy; proficiency in Excel, Power BI, or other data tools is preferred; Ability to leverage AI and digital tools to enhance analysis, improve efficiency, and deliver innovative solutions to clients. Experience in consulting or professional services would be advantageous, but not essential.
