Learn more at shn.ca Job Description: Reporting to the Director of Diagnostic Imaging Services, the Diagnostic Imaging (DI) Manager provides strategic and operational leadership to ensure safe, efficient, and innovative imaging services. This role drives compliance, optimizes workflows, and promotes patient-centered care while aligning departmental goals with SHN’s strategic priorities. The DI Manager fosters trust, collaboration, and engagement within a unionized environment and serves as a key advocate for patient safety, risk management, and quality improvement. Operating within SHN’s Health Leadership Capabilities Framework, the manager demonstrates the ability to lead self, engage others, achieve results, build coalitions, and advance system transformation. Key Responsibilities Manage day to day operations of a variety of modalities in an active DI Department in line with the mission, vision, values and strategic direction of the organization. Develop and manage annual operational plans, objectives, and budgets. Create an inclusive, high-performance environment through talent acquisition, development, and engagement. Drive continuous improvement by analyzing processes, challenging the status quo, and implementing best practices. Facilitate collaboration across diverse stakeholders, resolve conflicts, and support change initiatives that enhance service delivery and patient care. Ensure a safe environment for patients and staff, maintaining compliance with health and safety standards and hospital policies. Qualifications Registration in good standing with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO). Bachelor’s degree in a health-related discipline required; Master’s degree preferred. Minimum 5 years of experience in medical radiation technology or diagnostic sonography. At least 4 years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare, preferably in a unionized setting. Strong business and administrative acumen with proven stakeholder collaboration. Expertise in operational planning, financial management, and quality improvement (Lean methodology). Demonstrated success in building and mentoring high-performing teams. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills. Proficiency in information systems, PACS, and Microsoft Office; EPIC Radiant experience preferred.
