In this role, you will lead a team responsible for corporate finance and accounting operations including AP/AR, reconciliations, financial reporting, period end close, system integration, and internal controls. You will focus on ensuring accuracy of the accounting and financial reporting and effectiveness of the internal controls in place at ESC. Reporting to the Director, Finance, the key responsibilities of the role include: Lead, coach, and support the Finance Team, ensuring high performance and stakeholder satisfaction. Oversee and enhance processes for journal entries, reconciliations, financial reporting, and internal controls. Act as the primary contact for auditors during quarterly and annual audits. Develop and maintain a strong internal control environment utilizing recognized standards, practices and methodologies, and integrate these processes into the accounting and financial procedures. Design and present insightful financial reports using Power BI, Excel, and Workday Financials. Serve as the Subject Matter Expert for financial systems and manage change through integrations and improvements. Collaborate cross-functionally on strategic initiatives like M&A, system implementations, and cost-saving projects. Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior leadership to drive performance and profitability. What you’ll need: University degree in Commerce or Business Administration or equivalent An Accounting designation Minimum of 5-7 years’ experience in a related position Advanced understanding of IFRS, financial management principles and practices and costing models. Excel and Power BI Invoicing systems Strong knowledge of auditing practices and principles. Ability to Innovate and think strategically and conceptually. Please note: This position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement consisting of in-office and remote work. Key Competencies: Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop high-performing finance teams while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Strong skills in budgeting, forecasting, and aligning financial strategies with organizational goals. Deep understanding of IFRS, financial reporting, internal controls, and complex accounting processes. Experience in integrating financial systems and streamlining processes for increased efficiency and effectiveness. Skilled in financial analysis, research, and developing data-driven solutions to support strategic decisions.
