The Library Services Consultant is responsible for driving business growth and strengthening OCLC’s presence across Arabic-speaking and wider Middle Eastern countries. This role combines consultative selling with strategic account management, proposal development, and market engagement. The consultant will build long-term partnerships with libraries, ensuring OCLC’s products and services meet evolving institutional needs, while consistently achieving sales targets. Responsibilities Sales Strategy & Territory Development Develop and execute comprehensive sales and territory plans aligned with OCLC’s strategic objectives. Conduct needs assessments and cost-benefit analyses for existing and potential clients. Present, promote, and position OCLC’s solutions to generate demand and address institutional challenges. Proposal & RFP Management Lead the end-to-end management of the RFP process, including drafting, editing, and finalizing proposals. Coordinate internal teams to align proposals with client specifications and organizational requirements. Ensure compliance with operational, financial, and legal standards in all submissions. Client & Market Development Build and sustain strong, trust-based relationships with libraries and academic institutions. Serve as the primary contact for clients, providing consultative guidance on OCLC solutions. Represent OCLC at conferences, exhibitions, and seminars (virtual and in-person). Provide market insights to support product development and competitive positioning. Product Expertise & Positioning Maintain deep knowledge of OCLC’s full product and service portfolio. Effectively articulate value propositions against alternative providers. Tailor presentations and communications to diverse audiences across the region. Qualifications Education & Experience Master’s degree in Library and Information Science. 4–5 years of experience in a comparable sales, consulting, or business development role. Demonstrated success in consultative selling and proposal management. Skills & Competencies Fluent Arabic; excellent English (spoken and written). French is an advantage. Strong interpersonal, presentation, and public speaking skills. Strategic and analytical thinking with proven sales ability. Familiarity with library automation, educational systems, and the regional academic landscape. Highly motivated, target-driven, and culturally adaptable. Working Conditions Fully remote role based in the Middle East. Willingness to travel regionally (30–50%, when feasible). Flexibility to coordinate across time zones with OCLC headquarters.
