Within this role you will support nuclear business projects with specialist materials knowledge across the whole range of products and services. You will offer specialist support for material selection and processing, appropriate to the design and function of the equipment, ensuring that conformity to design intent, codes, standards and quality are all met. As a Materials Engineer you are responsible for support the maintenance and development of specifications for material and material processing within the context of any applied codes and standards, e.g. Pressure Equipment Directive. You will execute and support the review of manufacturing methods for production of castings, forgings, fabrications and finishing processes across the full scope of products for the nuclear business as well as liaise with Supplier Quality Engineers and support with supplier qualification where appropriate. Other Responsibilities include; Review and respond to supplier derogation requests and non-conformance reports. Issue and check technical reports. Delivery of technical assessment of non-conformance reports and supplier derogation requests. Participate in cost reduction activities related to material streamlining and harmonization of legacy specifications. Issue and check technical reports. Work closely and collaboratively with other departments maintaining a positive interface throughout projects. Within this role you will be working on projects with UK Defence customers which will require any individual applying for the role to hold or be capable of getting SC Level clearance. We will support the application for Security Clearance if the individual does not have it. Due to the nature of the work an individual is required to be a UK National (as approved by the MOD). Dual passport holders are acceptable if the second country is approved by the vetting authority. Qualifications BEng or MEng in Materials Engineering or Materials Science and Engineering Demonstrable experience within a similar metallurgy role, specifically related to high alloy steels. Background or good knowledge in metallurgy, particularly metallurgy of steels. Background or good knowledge in processing of metals (e.g. casting, metal working, fabrication, surface engineering…) Some knowledge of non-destructive testing Desired characteristics: A natural problem solver who is process oriented. Description du poste : Le lead Ingénieur matériaux apportera son support aux projets liés à l’activité nucléaire en mettant à disposition son expertise dans les matériaux utilisés pour les activités Produits et Services de Arabelle Solutions. Il/elle fera partie d’une équipe et fournira un support technique spécialisé dans un contexte de projets de plus en plus complexes et évoluant rapidement, tout en veillant au respect des règles de conception, des codes, des normes et de la qualité. Missions principales Apporter un support sur la sélection des matériaux en lien avec la conception de l’équipement et sa fonction. Contribuer à l’élaboration et à la maintenance des spécifications des matériaux et de leurs procédés de mise en œuvre, en accord avec tout type de codes et standard applicables (ex : Directive des équipements sous pression). Réaliser et apporter son expertise aux revues des méthodes de fabrication de fonderie, de forge, de fabrications et de traitement de surface sur tout le périmètre Produit de l’entité nucléaire. Collaborer avec les ingénieurs qualité fournisseurs et participer au processus de qualification des fournisseurs, le cas échéant. Examiner et répondre aux demandes de dérogation des fournisseurs ainsi qu’aux rapports de non-conformité. Soutenir les activités de fabrication interne, y compris les transferts de technologies et le développement des procédés de fabrication internes. Responsabilités En tant que lead Ingénieur(e) – Matériaux, vous serez amené(e) à : Fournir un support technique sur les matériaux pour les activités Produits et Services de l’unité nucléaire. Rédiger et valider des rapports techniques. Réaliser des évaluations techniques des rapports de non-conformité et des demandes de dérogation fournisseurs. Fournir une recommandation de sélection de matériaux pour les activités Services Participer aux initiatives de réduction des coûts liées à l’optimisation des matériaux et à l’harmonisation des spécifications existantes. Maintenir des interfaces positives avec les autres disciplines techniques. Assurer des interfaces efficaces avec les équipes projets des activités Produits et Services. Maintenir une interface technique constructive avec le réseau de fabrication d’Arabelle Solutions et les fournisseurs externes chargés de la fabrication des composants. Assurer un retour d’expérience au sein du groupe (réunions de retour d’expérience internes et avec les fournisseurs, rapports de synthèse). Autorité Interagir avec des ingénieurs du monde entier, issus des équipes internes et externes de conception et de fabrication. Collaborer avec les équipes Qualité Fournisseurs. Interagir avec les équipes d’ingénierie des services. Compétences requises Formation Master d’ingénierie/ Diplôme d’ingénieur en ingénierie des matériaux (un diplôme de niveau post-universitaire constitue un atout). Expérience Minimum de 5 ans d’expérience dans un poste d’ingénierie des matériaux, de préférence sur les aciers fortement alliés et les process de fabrication. Connaissances techniques et comportementales Expérience démontrée dans la métallurgie, et principalement dans les aciers. Expérience confirmée dans les procédés de mise en œuvre des matériaux (ex. : fonderie, forge, traitement de surface, mécano-soudure, etc.). Connaissance des principes fondamentaux des essais non destructifs. Rigueur et orientation vers les processus. Excellentes compétences interpersonnelles et aptitudes au leadership d’équipe.
