Sounds great – what’s the role in a nutshell? The Laundry Master is responsible for the meticulous management and operation of the vessel's laundry services. This role ensures all crew and guest laundry, as well as vessel linens and uniforms, are cleaned, pressed, and maintained to the highest standards of a luxury superyacht. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of fabric care, advanced cleaning techniques, and the ability to operate and maintain high-end laundry equipment efficiently. Your passion is: Laundry Operations: Oversee and execute all laundry tasks, including washing, drying, ironing, pressing, and folding of crew uniforms, guest clothing, and vessel linens. Fabric Care: Demonstrate expertise in handling a wide variety of fabrics, from delicate silks to durable uniforms, selecting appropriate cleaning methods and chemicals to prevent damage. Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory of all laundry supplies, including detergents, stain removers, and linen stocks, and report needs to the Chief Steward/ess. Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on all laundry machinery, including washers, dryers, and ironing presses, to ensure they remain in excellent working condition. Report any required repairs promptly. Stain Removal: Possess advanced knowledge and skill in identifying and effectively removing a wide range of stains without compromising fabric integrity. Quality Control: Conduct thorough quality checks on all items to ensure they meet the vessel's exacting standards before being returned. Guest & Crew Service: Handle guest and crew laundry requests with discretion and efficiency, ensuring timely and personalized service. Safety & Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and hygiene standards, ensuring a clean and organized work environment at all times. What are we looking for? Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the luxury hospitality industry, on cruise ships, or private yachts. Technical Skills: Proven experience operating professional-grade laundry equipment and a strong understanding of various cleaning agents. Knowledge: Comprehensive knowledge of different fabric types and the specific care requirements for each. Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining the highest level of cleanliness and presentation. Professionalism: A professional and discreet demeanor, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team in a high-pressure environment. Language Skills: Proficiency in English is required.
