Junior Product Designer Invertek Drives is a fast-growing global organisation dedicated to the design and manufacture of market leading Variable Frequency Drives used in a wide variety of industrial applications. Based at our global headquarters and manufacturing facility in Welshpool, we are looking for a talented Product Designer to join our Product Design Innovation team. This is an exciting opportunity where you join a growing team within R&D and focus on solving complex problems through a user focussed outlook. Working across multiple product categories you will join a team developing highly inventive, insight-led solutions that truly resonate with end users. Responsibilities : Working within a team who are developing products that form the future direction of the company. Supporting ongoing Product Life Cycle management exercises. Develop 3D CAD models, assemblies, and production-ready drawings Using the latest in 3D printing technology to test and evaluate your designs. Assist in prototyping, design validation, and mechanical testing. Produce design documentation, visuals, and technical illustrations. Collaborate with colleagues in engineering, compliance, and manufacturing. Following established procedures for design reviews and release workflows. Contribute to problem-solving and iterative development across active projects. Essential requirements: An undergraduate degree in Industrial Design or Product Design with a minimum of two years industry experience. A portfolio showing an inventive nature and evidence of turning ideas from a sketch into commercially available product. Proficiency with 3D CAD software (preferably SolidWorks) Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively. Good attention to detail, with an organised and methodical approach An ability to effectively manage time whilst working to tight timescales. A good understanding of manufacturing techniques and processes. A creative thought process with a self-motivated drive to create excellent ideas. An adaptable, reliable character with the ability to easily engage with others.
