Our client is seeking a Junior Accountant to support a growing finance team in a fast-paced, multi-project environment. Salary: $51,516 - $60,607 based on experience Hybrid Schedule: 3 days onsite, 2 days remote Vacation: 3 weeks to start Benefits: Comprehensive package Professional Development: Gain experience with multiple accounting systems and exposure to project-based accounting in a dynamic environment Team Culture: Supportive, collaborative, and professional What You’ll Do: Reporting to the Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for compiling, processing, and maintaining accounts payable records and supporting project accounting activities. Key responsibilities include: Manage and enter all incoming invoices (50+ per week) across multiple projects in accounting software (Sage 300 and QuickBooks Pro) Code invoices using a detailed job cost code structure Verify approvals on invoices and cheque requests Prepare and process cheques for multiple companies Update and maintain vendor database; serve as primary contact for vendors Communicate with vendors regarding invoice issues and with project managers regarding coding questions Enter project commitments and change orders; prepare associated forms Audit and verify expense reports; reconcile vendor statements Process rush items and maintain a schedule for time-sensitive tasks Maintain accounts payable and accounts receivable files Perform banking duties, including deposits and payments Prepare monthly bank reconciliations for multiple companies Prepare monthly/quarterly GST returns and related journal entries Prepare sales journal entries and verify customer compliance deposits Support special projects as assigned What You Bring: Minimum 1 year of experience in a corporate environment A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Accounting or a related field Working toward a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation Strong organizational and analytical skills, with attention to detail and accuracy Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting Professional discretion in handling confidential information Excellent oral and written communication skills Proficiency with MS Word and Excel; experience with QuickBooks and Sage 300 preferred Experience in real estate development accounting is a plus Strong initiative and ability to work effectively as part of a team About You: Detail-oriented and accuracy-driven Analytical thinker who can identify trends and issues Strong communicator, able to collaborate across teams Proactive problem solver who follows through independently If you are a motivated accounting professional looking to grow your career in a hands-on, supportive environment, we encourage you to apply.
