We have an exciting new opportunity for an Investment Analyst to join our highly engaged and innovative Pension Investment team. Our team is a small group of professionals who believe in the importance of retirement security and work closely together to ensure the plan is invested appropriately to meet our short- and long-term objectives. The Investment Analyst will report to the Manager, Pension Investments and be actively involved in supporting all aspects of the investment process. From performance monitoring and risk management to research and due diligence for prospective investments as well as trading, this role offers the opportunity to be an active and valuable member of the Pension Investment team. Produce quarterly reporting including the aggregation of data by asset class, region, and sector. Support senior team members in monitoring external investment managers by attending meetings with managers and reviewing monthly and quarterly reports. Maintain internal databases/reports and assist with the development and enhancement of analytical and monitoring tools. Execute foreign currency spot and forward trades. Monitor the Fund’s cash position to ensure liquidity is maintained. Assist senior team members with the due diligence process and evaluation of prospective investments including valuation, market trends, and key investment merits and risks. Develop and share views on various financial markets and investment strategies Support the development of external relationships Stay updated on institutional investment best practices and industry developments Assist in monitoring key investment risks. What you bring: Bachelors’ degree in Business, Mathematics, Economics, or a related field of study. Enrolled in or demonstrated interest in enrolling in the CFA charterholder program or CAIA designation. 0-5 years of relevant professional experience in the finance industry, preferably in the pension/institutional investment context. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite especially Excel/VBA. Knowledge of performance measurement and attribution techniques Excellent financial analysis and modelling skills Strong writing and presentation skills How others describe you: Exceptionally high attention to detail Passionate about investing and financial markets Well organized Team player Analytical and insightful Intellectually curious and self motivated Working Conditions: This position is a hybrid position with a minimum 3 days per week on site.
