Do you want to get more exposure to asset/liability management and portfolio construction while working with data modelling and visualization? Working within the Investment Risk team, you will have the chance to work with analytic tools to understand the impact of asset mix decisions. This role will provide opportunities to learn about factors impacting asset/liability balance at a pension plan, asset classes and their risk and return characteristics, and risk metrics used when considering portfolio suitability. Who you’ll work with Working closely with a team of data scientists and investment analysts, the work will be project-based ranging from half a day to full term projects. You will be working out of our Toronto office on a hybrid basis. Additional travelling will not be involved. What you’ll do As an Intern within our Investment Risk team, you will have the opportunity to: Work with and develop asset/liability model to determine the impact of changes to portfolio return and economic assumptions Conduct statistical analysis on simulation results and risk metrics Present data for audience consumption What you'll need Have a statistical background and understanding of risk measures Experience with Python is required Have a good understanding of asset classes and how they contribute to a portfolio Familiarity of the operations of a pension plan in terms of assets and liabilities Concentration in Actuarial Science, Statistics, Finance or related field Be enrolled in 3rd / 4th year or related Master’s program Experience with data visualization is helpful (Power BI preferred) Previous work term experience preferred Machine learning, AI projects and interests are a plus You must be enrolled in a co-op program or returning back to your studies after the work term is completed Please note that although the deadline for this posting is October 3, 2025, we will be reviewing applications on a rolling basis.
