Closing Date 2025-12-17 Instrumentation, Control and Automation Technician – Waste Water Location: Kent - Geographically based within location area (negotiable), with travel to multiple sites. Contract Type: Permanent Hours: 38 hours Salary: Base salary £37,260 up to £53,820 per annum (depending on skills and experience) Overtime and on-call payments available. About the role Join our Wastewater Treatment Team to maintain and improve ICA systems across multiple sites. You will ensure compliance, reliability, and efficiency of control systems while supporting continuous improvement. What you will be responsible for: Perform planned, reactive, and proactive maintenance on ICA equipment. Fault finding, calibration, testing, and programming of telemetry systems and instrumentation. Maintain and update PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems, including backups and modifications. Configure and maintain site control networks (Ethernet, Profibus, Profinet, etc.). Respond to alarms and implement remedial actions to maintain compliance. Document work accurately to meet internal and regulatory standards. Coach and train team members to develop technical skills. Additional Requirements Travel across multiple sites with a company van provided. What you’ll bring to the role: Essential NVQ Level 3 in Electrical or Electronic Engineering OR time-served apprenticeship. ONC or HNC in Instrumentation, Electronics, or Control. Strong problem-solving and fault-finding skills. Full UK driving licence. Desirable Experience with PLC programming and SCADA systems. Experience in process-oriented industries (water, petrochemical, manufacturing). Knowledge of HACCP and MCerts standards.
