Closing Date for Application: Saturday 29/11/2025 Specialists in providing engineered above ground drainage and water supply systems, Polypipe Building Services leverages offsite fabrication to design and deliver solutions to mechanical and public health engineers, M&E contractors as well as local authorities. Polypipe Building Services houses well-known industry brand Terrain and has been delivering systems to commercial, high rise residential, healthcare, education and leisure projects for over 50 years. Role: The main purpose of the Tool Setter-Operator role within Injection Moulding is to support the Production technicians with tool changes when machines are waiting in order to reduce production down time and improve departmental OEE. Normal Production Operator tasks should be completed when there are a high volume of machines running. Responsibilities: Support Production Technicians with setting of injection mould tools and machine change over preparation Preparation for mould tool changes, including collection of mould tools from racking, selection of tool cylinders and water / oil pipes. Completion of mould tool changes in accordance with agreed standards & SSW. Basic machine operation (cores off/on, open/close, mould safety, heel blocks). Knocker bar connection. Cleaning of tool back plates and machine platens. Support with product colour changes and end of run machine shutdown ensuring the barrel is purged through. Storage of mould tools after removal from the machine press. Use of Barco to ensure that relevant stop codes are used to report machine status. Completion of production Operator activities including packing, quality checks, product booking, and product transfer. Carry out visual quality checks on manufactured components in accordance with Polypipe Terrain quality plan / standards. Packing of manufactured moulded products. Operation of semi-automatic bagging equipment. Use of appropriate MHE for movement of materials and stock (if trained and approved to do so). Booking of finished products on IFS. Ensure all agreed Safe Systems of Work are followed at all times for relevant tasks and report near misses or safety concerns in order to prevent potential accidents. Skills & Requirements: Selection of job / tool / product from planning board taking account of priorities. Selection of machine for removal of outgoing tool and insertion of new mould tool. Knowledge of packing methods and consumable materials.
