Job Details Level: Entry Job Location: Independent Home Support Program - Wakefield, MA 01880 Position Type: Part Time Education Level: Bachelor Degree Salary Range: $15.00 - $15.00 Hourly Travel Percentage: Up to 50% Job Shift: Any Job Category: Nonprofit - Social Services We are currently seeking a part-time Mentor for our In Home Support Program. This position is responsible for teaching life skills and social skills to individuals in a variety of domains using the home and community as the classroom. Empower individuals in managing and exercising control over their Individual Support Plan (ISP) and work with individuals to be successful in their ISP goals. Assist individuals with ADLs when appropriate and instructed by supervisor. Solicit appropriate ongoing input from individuals and families and respond accordingly. Assist individuals in advocating for their needs and desires when necessary. Recognize and support the individual’s rights to make decisions and choices, right to take risks and the individual’s right to fail. Supervision of overall medical health, nutrition, social and general welfare of program participants. Assist in the completion of assessments and other paperwork as assigned by the Director or other management staff. Job Requirments High school diploma required, Bachelor’s Degree in Education or Human Services preferred or 3 years’ experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities. At least one year of directly related experience working with adults with developmental disabilities. Valid Massachusetts Driver’s license, acceptable driving record and reliable transportation. Acceptable CORI report and suitable fingerprint results required. Ability to be Medication Administration Certified (will provide training) Experience working with families of individuals and professional service providers. Current CPR and First Aid Certifications required (will provide training)
