Summary:
The Account Manager position is responsible for delivering profitable growth in a defined territory by providing solutions to current and prospective customers. The role is accountable for achieving volume, revenue, and margin growth targets by growing The Company share with existing and new customers through the sale of product and service offerings.
This role will report to the Regional Sales Director - Canada and is expected to provide a mix of strategic and tactical solutions in a business-to-business selling environment. In the position, the focus will be on acquiring, penetrating, managing, and retaining customers by building strong customer relationships. As an Account Manager, the person will be performance-driven with a dedication to achieving team goals critical to the success of the overall business.
Main Job Responsibilities:
- Territory Planning: Understands territory environment, current accounts, prospects, competitors, and suppliers.
- Account Planning & Customer Knowledge: Understands customer objectives, needs, and profitability drivers.
- Ownership & Performance Focus: Takes responsibility for and ownership of territory.
- Coordination & Leadership: Develops relationships within Company and within the customer organization.
- Market Knowledge: Keeps up-to-date and informed on the market, industry, and regulatory issues.
- Technical Knowledge: Identifies technical needs of customers. Ability to communicate and build customer technical relationships to drive growth.
- Value Proposition: Understands and sells entire value offering from Company.
- Communication: Presents to customers with awareness of customer context.
- Negotiations & Solution Agreement: Has sound judgment and problems solving skills to create win-win solutions.
- Implementation Management: Reacts to additional customer demands and needs.
- Sales Administration: Has command of MS Office and CRM.
- Pipeline and Quotation Management: Manages pipeline proactively, recognizing customers' stage in the decision cycle.

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree; in business, engineering or chemistry or similar field preferred.
- 3-5 years of plastics distribution sales or related industry experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of commodity resins and/or flexible packaging market is desirable
- Willingness to travel 10-15%. Most travel will be withing the province
- Highly adept at prospecting and customer acquisition.
- Proficient with Microsoft Word Suite, SAP, CRM/ERP systems, and Salesforce preferred.
- Use logic and reasoning to identify alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and written.
- Proven track record of delivering consistent and long-term growth.
- Ability to build relationships and resolve customer complaints or concerns.
- Experience working in a team-oriented collaborative environment.
