Job Details Job Location: Boca Raton, FL 33496 Position Type: Full Time Summary: Responsible for setting up and breaking down all dining areas, public common areas, lounges and meeting rooms including indoor and outdoor common areas. Ensures that all special events are setup in accordance with the supervisor’s instructions and as stated on the Banquet Event Order (BEO). Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following; Receives and constructs floor plans for special events, functions and meetings. Ensures that floor plans are carried out and completed per Banquet Event Order (BEO). Ensures that rental equipment is properly brought on to the property. Sets up and operates audio visual (AV) equipment as necessary. Responsible for knowledge of club happenings and events and be flexible to changes. Learns floor plan and memorizes table numbers. Ensures all linen is clean and organized and sends it out daily for cleaning. Remains on hand throughout the event for any special changes or rearrangements. Ensures meeting rooms are properly stocked and cleaned. Works closely with buffet attendants to ensure their needs for each event. Ensures work area is organized, clean, stocked and ready for the next shift. Communicates with members, co-workers, management and the general public in a courteous and professional manner. Conforms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions. Exhibits and maintains a professional demeanor to reflect a positive image of The Polo Club. Performs other duties as assigned by the Houseman Setup Supervisor. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Must have previous experience with banquet setup, audio visual equipment and stages and dance floors. Must have strong organizational skills. Ability to verbally communicate well in English and in writing. Ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions in English. Ability to interact professionally and maintain effective working relationships with superiors, co-workers and members. Must be able to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment. Supervisory Responsibilities: This job does not have supervisory responsibilities. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of members or employees of organization. Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Computer Skills: No requirements. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: No requirements.
