Job Description – Hot Mill Operator 

General Duties:

• Support and Learn the Functions of the Melt Deck, Floor or Caster Line as needed
• Work with Ladleman to build and use Ladles and eventually molten metal crane
• Inventory and Quality Checks of Materials prior to charging furnaces
• Assist and learn how to Build Ladles, Tundishes and Furnaces
• Operate Furnaces, VOD and Caster
• Work the Ingot Pouring Line
• Work the Caster Shear Line
• Build and Install Caster Molds
• Perform a variety of duties around molten and/or hot metal
• Perform a variety of duties that require excellent mechanical aptitude
• The ability to stay focused on Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost
