General Definition of Work Performs a broad range of teaching services, assisting students develop skills,attitudes and knowledge needed as a foundation for future learning in accordance with each student's ability, assessingachievementsand communicating those to District officials and parents, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the limited supervision of the Principal 7-12.
Qualification Requirements Current appropriate Minnesota teaching license required: English or Communication/Lanugage Arts Demonstrates continued professional development through course work, research, peer collaboration, and/or job-embedded staff development.Working knowledge of the subject matter, classroom management techniques, current researched best practices and strategies, as wellas students' learning styles and needs, both academic and affective.
Essential Functions Prepares and plans lessons using technology and other tools.Instructs large groups, small groups and individuals enlisting various teaching techniques; observes students inacademic, behavioral and social settings; evaluates their needs and responds accordingly; communicates thisinformation to parents, staff and required professionals. Establishes behavior plans and manages student behaviorsin order to maintain a safe and productive learning environment. Attends staff and committee meetings as required.
