The Pump Mechanic is primarily responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of concrete pump trucks, including concrete trucks, pick-up trucks, and off-road equipment. Hourly Rate: Starts at $42/hr and will increase based on prior experience Responsibilities: Work closely with the lead hand mechanics, apprentices, and service writers to perform preventative maintenance and repairs on concrete pumps. Perform CVIP inspections. Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair engine, HVAC, hydraulic, air, drivetrain, steering, transmission, emission, and electrical components. Update work orders as maintenance and repairs are underway. Attend service calls off-site when required. Mentor and coach apprentice mechanics. Maintain a clean and clear work area, adhering to safety regulations and PPE protocols. Champion the safety culture at RMC, including participating in safety meetings, identifying and reporting hazards, wearing PPE, and following safe work procedures. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Previous experience performing maintenance and repairs on concrete pumps such as Schwing & Putzmeister. Familiarity with work order management software such as ManagerPlus. Valid drivers license and clean drivers abstract. Ability to lift up to 50lbs on a consistent basis. Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic strongly preferred, a non-ticketed Pump Mechanic with the relevant experience may be considered. Key Attributes: Strong organizational and time management skills. Safety conscious attitude. Comfortable working alone as well as part of a team. Excellent communication skills. Physical Demands: This is moderately strenuous work. Mechanics frequently lift material up to 50 pounds. Machinery and tools require frequent and consistent exertion on arms, hands, and fingers. Work environment is typically indoors in a shop environment; however, mechanics are frequently outdoors pulling in fleet vehicles or even driving out onto job sites, freeways, or roads with service truck for emergency truck repairs. Hours of Work: This position operates on a rotating b-weekly schedule. Working hours for the first week are Monday to Friday 7AM – 3:30PM (morning shift) followed by the second week working Monday to Saturday 2PM – 10:30PM (afternoon shift).
