The SZC Jobs Service supports local people into exciting, long-term careers across our Project. #SZCJobsHealth and Safety Manager (Sizewell C)Wilson JamesSizewell C Main Duties: •    Ownership of the SZC site safety platform on behalf of Wilson James.•    Accountable for managing the Health, Safety and Environmental Performance Indicators ensuring they are completed in full and submitted every month. •    Responsible for safety performance and reporting accidents and incidents on the Notify software (Wilson James).•    Responsible for reviewing all WJ  RAMS and SSOW, ensuring mandatory site SSOW are in place and compliant.•    Responsible for working with the WJ Quality team ensuring WJ align with the permit requirements for SZC,  monitoring performance and supporting additional training.•    Identifying training requirements and safety information to include in the site induction.•    Active participation in selected inductions and briefings.•    Participate in WJ Logistics internal safety audits to underwrite safety culture and reporting.•    Ensure you are fully conversant with the WJ Logistics scope documents and the location of the activities.•    Monitor and improve the standards of WJ teams putting their employees to work, Point of Work Risk Assessment activities and Insight reporting ensuring working practices are to the highest standard.•    Ensure the Health and Safety Compliance Standards of the SZC project are met. This includes timely collation of safety metrics and dashboard reporting for SZC.•    Engage your team collaboratively with the other Tier 1 site integrated H&S teams.•    Carry out all duties with full regard to all policies, plans and procedures relevant to the WJ T1 contract.•    Share and record best practices and lessons learnt experience and site issues to allow for continuous improvement.•    Responsibility to act as delegated WJ project fire officer  - managing our nominated contractor and ensuring all relevant fire risk assessments are reviewed and available for permits.•    Responsible for ensuring WJ and Site Occupational Health standards are maintained and  performance is measured•    Responsible for ensuring the WJ and Site Well Being policy has been implemented and reviewed.•    Primary investigatory authority when unsafe practices are observed or safety incidents occur (including near-misses). Further, safety incident reporting and Lesson Learned author including updates to training and documentation.•    Carry out any other reasonable request as required by your Line Manager•    Work in accordance with WJ and SZC Values Requirements: Strong working knowledge of Health and Safety regulations, specific to the construction industry logistics activitiesNEBOSH qualification - preferably general certificate or construction certificate.IOSH Qualification - Ideally a member or equivalentCITB H&S test pass certificate for Managers & ProfessionalsCSCS Card (professional card - white)Experience in compiling and reviewing RAMS specific to the taskStrong construction or engineering backgroundDemonstrate experience and knowledge of safety in plant and vehicle operationsExperience working in a multi-disciplined safety-critical environment.Excellent written and spoken communication skills, able to communicate at all levelsIT literate - Strong electronic communication, spreadsheet, and presentation skillsAn understanding of the principles of equality and diversity in relation to visitors' and employees' Benefits: Salary starting from £63,000.00 per annum8.5% bonusTravel and lodge allowanceWorking Monday - Friday Annual leave of 25 days per year, plus bank holidaysLife assurance schemeCompany sick payPension Scheme 5% employer contributionAccess to an industry leading Employee Benefits Platform offering lifestyle savings and discounts on most high street retailers, a Reward and Recognition programmeEmployee Assistance Programme that provides a health and well-being support serviceAs an employer of choice, we focus on wellbeing, training, and career progressionEmployee Referral SchemeAccess to online GP service for you and your dependant  For this role you must have evidence of right to work in the UK.
