Part of the largest UK owned airport operator group, MAG, East Midlands Airport supports over 6,000 jobs and generates around £300m each year for the region.The role An exciting opportunity has become available for a Head of Health and Safety and Fire at the East Midlands AirportResponsibilities include :-Driving the safety culture ensuring safety is at the heart of every decisionChampioning the integration of health and safety into business processesEngaging with stakeholders to deliver a safe, resilient and compliant airport environmentEnsuring compliance with UK and EU Health & Safety legislation and regulationsMaintaining adherence to UK Fire Safety Legislation including Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, and relevant Building RegulationsLeading and implementation and continual improvement of the ISO 45001 Occupational Health & Safety Management SystemEnsuring cost-effective delivery of compliance and safety initiatives in line with health and safety budgetsProviding leadership to team of direct reports as well as delivering support and guidance across the entire airport operationWorking at a strategic level ensuring directors and senior managers and to embed safety and fire compliance into business priorities.Acting independently on all matters of health and safety.What will make you successful in the role? Minimum of 3 years’ experience in health & safety at a senior level within a large organisation and a proven track record in the delivery of business objectives and health & safety management systems Hold a recognised health & safety qualification at diploma level such as NEBOSH diploma (Level 6) and be at least a Grad Member of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH), or other relevant institution.
