Position: Grants and Partnerships Manager - Eastern Europe Location: Paris Language: The International Fund's working language is English. Limited working proficiency in a language used in the region will be considered an asset. The International Fund for Public Interest Media (the International Fund) is looking for an outstanding individual with a deep understanding of development assistance to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a commitment to upholding freedom of expression and will be able to demonstrate a curiosity about the future of journalism. The successful candidate will support our work to sustain and develop public interest media in the region of Eastern Europe. The Role Reporting to the Regional Director for Eastern Europe, the Grants and Partnerships Manager - Eastern Europe will play a key role in managing donor-funded programs, ensuring timely and high-quality reporting, coordinating deliverables, and supporting the development of performance indicators to track progress and impact. The successful candidate will work closely with regional and global teams to ensure effective program delivery, compliance with donor requirements, and continuous improvement in monitoring, evaluation, and learning processes. Key responsibilities Donor Reporting and Compliance Lead internal coordination required to deliver regional reporting and planning requirements outlined in the Fund’s agreements with major donors. Prepare, review, and submit high-quality narrative and financial reports for donors, ensuring accuracy and compliance with donor guidelines. Develop and maintain reporting templates, schedules, and internal coordination mechanisms to streamline reporting processes. Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) Contribute to the development of project indicators and performance measurement frameworks for the Eastern Europe portfolio. Support the collection, analysis, and presentation of monitoring data to demonstrate program achievements and lessons learned. Collaborate with the What Works Unit and MEL specialists to strengthen learning systems and data-driven decision-making. Research and Strategic Input Contribute to the design of new initiatives and funding proposals by providing data, insights, and lessons from ongoing programs. Participate in strategic planning and internal learning processes to improve regional program design and delivery. Cross-Cutting Responsibilities Promote and integrate gender equality, inclusion, and diversity considerations into program design and reporting. Candidate Profile Required Experience Minimum of 7+ years of relevant experience; Proven experience in donor reporting, program compliance, and managing complex deliverables. Strong understanding of project cycle management, including planning, budgeting, monitoring, and evaluation. Prior experience working in international organizations or with multilateral donors. Excellent writing, editing, and data presentation skills, with meticulous attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively across geographies and time zones. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Commitment to the mission of public interest media and freedom of expression. Ability to work autonomously and with a high degree of flexibility. Desirable Experience Experience working with or supporting media or media development organizations. Master’s degree in international relations, development studies, gender studies, communications, or a related field. Experience working with and managing teams and projects in different locations.
