Job Description As a Graduate Control & Instrumentation Engineer, you will work on a variety of projects that apply your technical knowledge while developing your skills and experience. As part of the 20% dedicated to training and development, you will complete a core suite of activities aimed at enhancing your professional and business skills, with flexibility to tailor the programme to both your personal development and the needs of your specific role. Your core responsibilities: Carry out control and instrumentation, electrical, and electronics activities across UKAEA programmes. Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and software teams to ensure delivered systems are demonstrably safe, including reviewing and analysing hardware/software and designing complex safety functions. Contribute to requirement capture, design, procurement, installation/modification, programming, and commissioning of C&I systems, including test rigs and prototypes, following procedures and specifications. Assist with troubleshooting and fault analysis of existing C&I systems to support solution development. Work with team members to design and implement control, instrumentation, and protection systems for existing and new plant. Participate in technical studies and documentation to ensure proposed solutions are technically robust. Gain experience programming PLC systems and LabVIEW data acquisition systems.
