Salary Range: $140k-$150k Job Purpose: This position oversees all operations that support the Hotel. This is inclusive of but not limited to the Front Desk operations, housekeeping, maintenance, and owner relations. The General Manager also works with any tenants in the lobby and conveys Ownership’s requests and helps with overall cleanliness. The General Manager is responsible for maximizing the return on investment to owners or ownership, as well as achieving the financial goals of AAH. In addition, they are responsible for the property achieving the objectives of the annual budget and strategic initiatives in guest service, Associate Engagement Survey, and profitability. The General Manager is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of guest service, a positive work environment for all Associates, and must also maintain programs vital to the company culture. The General Manager must also ensure the hotel complies with company customer service, product, and brand standards, including all policies and procedures outlined in the company’s Standard Operating Procedures. The GM develops strategy and execution tactics for the property including financial performance and budget development, growth and development, recruitment and staff development. The Position requires effective leadership skills to build a service culture in concert with the property standards. Strong background in operations and financial management is required. Job Responsibilities: 1. Assist in the development of short and long-range plans for performance and profitability of the property. Focus to be placed not only on fiscal responsibility but also culture development for employees. Understands balancing the bottom line with providing a guest experience beyond expectations, in accordance with the property standards. 2. Supervise the performance of department managers and their respective departments, including Front Office, Housekeeping, and Maintenance, to ensure the highest level of guest and Associate satisfaction in a cost-efficient manner. 3. Assist with recruiting, and development of staff. 4. Ensure that property positioning is consistent with the brand to ensure the effectiveness of the property marketing strategy. 5. Understand the capabilities of all THQ departments and leverage same to benefit the property. 6. Develop, implement, monitor and achieve the objectives of the Annual Operating Plan, including sales strategies, pricing, revenue management and the operating and capital budgets (in conjunction with ownership). 7. Develop and supervise programs that promote a positive work environment for all Associates, ensuring that all employment related processes comply with local, state, federal and country regulations. 8. When applicable, work with Company Leaders to improve the property, including renovation. 9. Using the tools at his/her disposal, monitor guest satisfaction scores and feedback to establish plans for constant improvement. 10. Protect and enhance the value of the hotel through appropriate programs in repairs and maintenance, preventative maintenance, housekeeping, security and capital budgeting. 11. Review and support all revenue generation and operating expenses for the property, as well as achieve increased annual RevPar. 12. Perform other duties as assigned by RVP – Operations or Area Manager. Job Qualifications: . Education Bachelor’s degree/diploma in business or related field. Experience/Skills 5 or more years’ experience in management supervising rooms, with exposure to financials and revenue management. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written. Strong aptitude in financial management, financial reports and analysis. Punctuality and regular reliable attendance. Computer knowledge in Windows environment as well as prior experience with various PMS systems desirable. Language English speaking required. Licenses/Certifications N/A Management Activities: Interview, select and train Associates where appropriate Set and adjust their rates of pay and hours of work Direct the work of Associates Appraise employee productivity and efficiency for recommending promotions or other changes in status Handle Associate complaints Discipline Associates as applicable Plan the work Apportion the work among the Associates Determine the type of materials, supplies, machinery, equipment or tools to be used or merchandise to be bought and stocked, in conjunction with company purchasing guidelines Provide for the safety and security of the employees or the property Plan and control the budget Monitor or implement legal compliance measures Customarily and regularly direct the work of at least 2 or more full-time Associates or their equivalent. Authority to hire or fire other Associates or make suggestions and recommendations as to the hiring, firing, advancement, promotion or any other change of status of other Associates with the guidance of AAH. Discretion & Independent Judgment Authority to make impact regarding room rates, vendor relations, and hiring Associates, in conjunction with Team HQ. Works with others on annual budgets and planning for the property. Expense control during slow seasons. Local contact for guests, ownership, Associates, and the community. Authority to make decisions at the property level. Physical Requirements: Ability to speak and hear. Close and distance vision. Continual use of manual dexterity and gross motor skills with frequent use of bi-manual dexterity and fine motor skills. Additional physical and visual requirements: Identify and distinguish colors (floors are color coded) Frequent sitting Walk extended distances Lift/carry up to 5 lbs. Lift/carry 6-25 lbs.
