This position focuses on managing and growing this crucial sales region, encompassing a diverse array of lab supplies including equipment, instrumentation and consumables sourced from multiple providers. Working independently, you will reach your objectives by embracing a team-oriented sales strategy, nurturing robust business connections with our clientele and vendors, and exploring fresh business prospects. You will have the flexibility to work remotely while also being prepared to travel for client-facing meetings for around 60% of your schedule. Seeking candidates based in Oxford or M4 Corridor (e.g. Reading, Swindon, Bristol, Cardiff) What will you do? Develop collaborative relationships with customers within the territory, through virtual and in-person interaction to grow RSD business. Diversify connections within customer accounts to establish relationships across multiple functions including procurement, laboratory managers and leadership. Attract new clients for RSD through promoting schemes for new labs and biotech firms. Work with supplier representatives to drive product awareness, customer-centric solutions, and sale execution. Harness a cross-functional team of supplier and internal resources to optimize product selection, technical support, and workflow solutions. Play an active role in gathering field market intelligence related to new products/services, competitor activity, pricing, and other industry trends. Who we are looking for: Bachelor’s degree in a scientific subject area or equivalent work experience – Life Science with exposure to biotechnology workflows an advantage. Some prior commercial experience is preferred – field, retail & phone-based selling all of interest. Exposure to the research/development laboratory and/or a sound understanding of the current marketplace for laboratory equipment, consumables and/or chemicals is preferred. Motivated to work independently, with a curiosity about the corporate world; you need to demonstrate validated organizational/collaboration skills and efficient time management. Communication, presentation, strategic selling, and negotiation form the foundation of this role. Ability to connect with customers across a range of settings including one-to-one meetings, exhibitions, and formal presentations. Computer proficiency in MS Office, Web-based, and other digital platforms. Field and diligence in maintaining records & general administrative duties. Valid UK driver’s license & willingness to travel on a weekly basis (c.60%) within territory, plus regional & national meetings.
