B.C. Full-Time   Basic Purpose: Reporting to the Fire Assay Spectroscopy Manager, the Fire Assay Instrumentation Technician will perform duties related to the analysis of client samples by ICP-ES, ICP-MS, AAS and/or Gravimetric.   Key Accountability/Responsibilities:     •          Comply with occupational health and safety legislation, BV Group Policies and Procedures, Upstream Minerals (UM) Management System Policies and Procedures and ISO standards applicable to the Mineralogical Technician position •          Act in a safe and professional manner and wear appropriate attire including the required personal protective equipment (PPE) •          Digest samples according to written procedure and prepare solutions for instrument runs •          Setup and conduct experiments, tests, and analyses using techniques such as spectroscopy and gravimetric •          Operate analytical instruments (ICP-ES, ICP-MS, AAS and Gravimetric) to ensure fast and accurate processing of incoming samples in priority sequence •          Compile, review and interpret analytical results •          Perform and document quality checks at all stages of sample handling, halting production where necessary by Hold card and written Nonconformity Report to the supervisor •          Operate, maintain and ensure calibration records are kept for instrument according to written instruction •          Responsible for overall maintenance of analytical instruments to generate the highest quality results, short term and long term •          Comply with occupational health and safety legislation, BV Group Policies and Procedures, Upstream Minerals Management System Policies and Procedures and ISO standards applicable to the position •          Act in a safe and professional manner and wear appropriate attire including the required personal protective equipment (PPE) •          Other duties or tasks as assigned from time to time   Skills and Knowledge: •          Minimum BSc or technical diploma •          Relevant experience in similar laboratory environment considered an asset •          Experience in operating analytical instruments preferred – training will be provided •          Familiarity with WHMIS and GLP •          Excellent verbal and written communication skills •          Excellent interpersonal, organization, and time management skills •          Keen attention to detail and ability to maintain a high level of accuracy •          Safely perform physically demanding tasks with repeated lifting •          Ability to handle weights of up to 50 lbs for prolonged periods •          Open and inclusive mindset with a willingness to work in a team dynamic     Bureau Veritas is proud to be committed to providing fair and competitive pay.   The salary range for this role is $19.00-$20.51   Pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location.       Competitive, equitable salary with top-tier health benefits, dental, and vision insurance in addition to:   WE ARE day and a FLOATER day   Employee Assistant Program (EAP)   Access to the Employee Purchase Programs       Join us at Bureau Veritas, where your well-being and professional growth are our top priorities.
