Financial Auditor Circa £32,000 dependent on skills & experience Permanent, 37 hours per week Huntingdon Make every drop of your potential count. Join our team! This role will be responsible for ensuring the effective design and operation of the financial controls of the Group, alongside updating the existing Financial Controls Manual. It will involve a thorough financial risk assessment, testing the design and operating effectiveness of those controls and implementing any remediation required. A key part of this role is ensuring we maintain effective controls for our £11bn Totex plan in AMP8 (Asset Management Period). You will support the Financial Controls Manager, working with Heads of department to understand financial risk and design effective control. You will need to have a pragmatic approach to work and be confident communicating with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation. You will be required to support the production of monthly reporting to the Board on the effectiveness of controls and provide updated papers to the Audit Committee. Key responsibilities Support on matters related to financial control Develop and support the implementation of financial procedures, strategies, policies and solutions to help the organisation and its leaders operate a ‘best practice’ delivery of its financial controls Develop, update, and evaluate key controls documentation, including process flowcharts, process narratives, risk and controls matrices whilst assessing the impact of new systems or major process changes to the internal control system Provide advice and recommendations to the business in respect of handling control deficiencies and related remediation plans Understand and keep up to date with risk management standards and approaches Accurately prepare the monthly controls dashboard for the Group Chief Financial Officer and Audit Committee within specified deadlines Conduct annual risk assessments and scoping activity for agreement with Audit Committee Perform walkthroughs to identify/validate key controls including entity-level, IT general and process level controls As a valued employee you’ll be entitled to: A competitive pension scheme where we double-match your contributions up to 6% Private healthcare for your peace of mind An annual bonus scheme The opportunity to volunteer in your local community 26 days holiday (plus Bank Holidays), increasing with service, with the option to swap Christmas and Easter for religious holidays Life cover (8x your salary) and personal accident cover (up to 5x your salary) Flexible benefits to support your well-being and lifestyle Paid time off for illness, both physical and mental Free parking at all office locations, sites, and leisure parks Excellent family-friendly policies, including 26 weeks of full pay for maternity/adoption leave and 4 weeks of paternity/partner pay, with the opportunity for shared parental leave What does it take to be successful?
