Financial Analyst

Job Description

Our client, a respected and expanding organization is looking for a Financial Analyst to join their team. As a strategic partner, you will help guide the financial direction of the company while working closely with a collaborative finance team. This permanent role is perfect for a detail-focused professional and offers the flexibility to be based in either the Dartmouth, NS or Saint John, NB office.

Key Responsibilities for the Job:

• Prepare monthly and quarterly variance reports, incorporating financial and operational metrics
• Contribute to the annual budget process by creating templates, uploading files, updating models and building presentations
• Act as a finance business partner supporting departments financial analysis and planning
• Load and manage data for planning and budgeting purposes
• Build financial models and visualizations 
• Support ad hoc financial analysis
• Contribute to special projects and process improvement initiatives as needed

Experience & Attributes for Success:

• Post-secondary education in Finance, Accounting, or other related field 
• FP&A certification is considered an asset, but not required
• 5+ years of relevant and progressive, relevant experience
• Proven experience in financial planning, budgeting, and analysis 
• Ability to work with large complex data sets and distil down to key insights or actions
• Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively and proactively in a fast-paced environment
