An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Financial Accountant to continue to challenge and push the boundaries and drive Vax forward. If you are looking to challenge yourself, then this is a great role for you. We offer hybrid working, with 3 days in the office each week. Purpose of the Role The role sits within the busy accounting team at Vax. The role is to manage the external and Group Internal audit and to liaise with internal finance and business teams to provide auditors requirements. You will also own and manage cost centres and perform month-end duties in relation to this, including journals, balance sheet reconciliations, forecasting, and reporting to internal stakeholders and be an active business partner. This role would suit someone from an audit background. Day to Day Duties Include - To lead on all financial and statutory accounting whilst maintaining up-to-date knowledge of accounting standards, including foreign exchange hedge accounting Manage Corporation Tax queries and R&D tax credit application Manage VAT returns and HMRC compliance Recommending and implementing improvements in financial controlling and reporting environment You will also prepare and deliver audited financial statements. Submission of monthly management accounts and supporting the group finance team with Floorcare specific consolidation. Supporting the Finance Director and finance team with ad-hoc projects and tasks What do we need from you? Strong organisational skills with deadline and deliverables focus Strong Microsoft Excel skills with high level of understanding of working with computerised systems Experience in using ERP systems & reporting capabilities, favourably Microsoft Dynamics. A strong technical understanding of UK GAAP, and IFRS group accounting, as well as having proven comprehensive consolidation experience. Experience in preparation of financial journals and management accounting Strong understanding of Corporation compliance requirements. Excellent communication and business partnering skills, including ability to communicate effectively at all levels within VAX and with external stakeholders, and attention to detail and drive to personally succeed.
