Great Blue Resorts owns and operates 10 private resort lakefront properties located throughout Ontario’s cottage country. These properties offer outright ownership of beautiful pre-manufactured seasonal recreational cottages. Our resorts have full facilities including community areas, swimming pools, splash pads, multi-sports courts, playgrounds and beaches. Position Requirements, Accounting Assistant AR/AP Position Overview The overall function of an Accounting Assistant is to process and manage owner and cottage transactions and to provide related accounting support. Responsibilities/Accountabilities Primary Responsibilities: Billing Prepares bills and invoices for sales and owner fees. These payments contain requests list information such as a description of the service, the date of the transaction, the price, fees, and discounts applied. Update owner accounts by sending bill reminders and communicating with customers or owners of units in the resorts via phone, email, or mail. Record and review cottage sale payments promptly and accurately. Update plot rates and owner discounts to ensure owner fees accuracy. Cash Management Identify and process miscellaneous payments Manage Moneris accounts and access by head office and resorts. Reconciliations Ensure all banks are reconciled on a daily basis Ensure all sub-ledgers are reconciled to control accounts monthly Ensure all Owner Customer Account revenues have appropriately matched costs and correct cutoff Maintain lists of contents for various accrual accounts monthly Reconcile owner ledgers and advance deal deposits to ensure that all payments and any refunds (liens, consignments, etc.) are accounted for and properly posted. Research any discrepancies. Secondary Responsibilities: Owner Account Management Review New Owner files received from Sales Department, ensures New Owner Checklist is completed accurately and all corresponding paperwork is correct. Communicate with Sales Coordinator and/or Sales Administrator when follow up is required Create the owners in the Elite Parks system as soon as the full funding or payment has been received and the sale of unit has been verified or closed. Post the Sales Invoice and the corresponding payments with the deals. Working with Sales Department to manage old owners and unposted cottage sales, being proactive in acquiring all required supporting documentation and payment request forms. Internal Relationship management Cottage Owners Manages owner calls and/or emails if inquiry is Finance related (payment dates etc.) Responds to owner calls and/or emails and directs to Resort General Manager for most inquiries Sales Department Communicates with Sales Director and/or Sales Coordinator for most sales deal inquiries Cottage vendors May be required to obtain information from Vendors or suppliers pertaining to a deal Deal Financing Providers and banks, including Moneris May be required to communicate with financial providers related to a deal closing Accounts Payable for cottage purchase orders and owner refunds Responsibilities/Accountabilities Purchase Order management Vendor Relationship Management Internal Customer management Internal Audit Payment Request Management Position Qualifications • 3+ years’ experience in accounting in either an accounting firm or industry • Post-secondary certificate or degree in Business with accounting major, or equivalent • Experience using Microsoft Nav or equivalent ERP system Position Qualifications • 3+ years’ experience in accounting in either an accounting firm or industry • Post-secondary certificate or degree in Business with accounting major, or equivalent • Experience using Microsoft Nav or equivalent ERP system Responsibilities/Accountabilities Purchase Order management Vendor Relationship Management Internal Customer management Internal Audit Payment Request Management Great Blue Resorts is committed to employment equity regardless of national or ethnic origin, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, age or disability.
