Structured Rates Strategist - Associate London The Structured Rates desk strat team focuses on the following areas: developing pricing and risk models and systems to support Structured Rates trading in interest rate option and exotic products; undertaking operational tasks for the trading desk such as calculation of valuation adjustments and remark impacts; assisting the desk with pricing, risk management and any ad hoc investigations that arise. Structured Rates is seeking an experienced candidate to contribute to rates options and exotics model development and trading desk support. Primary responsibilities include: Active development and production support of valuation models in C++ analytics libraries Active development and production support of Scala-based risk and P&L systems and trading applications Establishment of a close relationship with traders and structurers; quantitative support for the London trading desk Close collaboration with operations and middle office to ensure robust operational risk control of Structured Rates models Close collaboration with other strat teams globally, contributing new pricing and modelling ideas and technical expertise Translation of front office business needs into clear, achievable deliverables by strat and technology teams What we’re looking for: Deep understanding of quantitative modelling, valuation and market behaviour of interest rates and option/exotic products Some knowledge of credit hybrids and bond derivatives Experience in risk and P&L implementation and trading application development A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience Strong programming skills. Experience in C++ and/or Scala is highly desirable, and experience in Python is useful Experience of working with, and managing deliverables of, business partners such as Technology and Finance is helpful Skills that will help you in the role: Advanced degree in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Financial Engineering, Statistics, Engineering, Physics or Computer Science; Strong communication skills (the role requires effective collaboration across a range of groups and regions); Ability to present complex issues clearly, both verbally and in writing; Ability to work thoughtfully, independently and manage multiple projects.
